From the founder: Jordy Micha

The Abiding Heart has been a personal project over many years waiting to be birthed. It is not just a project, but a testimony of the grace of God.

I grew up in the church as a young child. As I grew up and went off to college, I began to fall away from the Christian faith. I grew up going to church, but had no real foundation or relationship with Jesus. The dire result of this was a steady decline into the lusts of the world. I began indulging in alcohol, drugs, and new age witchcraft. There were many days and nights of partying and partaking in these things. The deeper I slipped, the more my mind became tormented with thoughts rooted in depression, loneliness, and anxiety. 

After many years of silently struggling I decided to give up alcohol to try and get sober. It was a long journey of "self-healing" that was nearly impossible because I did not have Jesus. I had turned deeper into witchcraft to try and fix myself. Yoga, meditation, crystal magic, oil magic. I tried all of it. None of it worked. I still struggled with the temptations of drugs and alcohol.

Along with still suffering from heavy depression, anxiety, and now anger issues. I was now dealing with physical pain in my body that had no root cause. I had had enough. One day, I was in my apartment in tears. I remembered something a pastor had once said "Jesus did not die on the cross to have 1% of you. He died to have 100% of you." I'm not sure what it was about that quote, but it hot me like a ton of bricks. I fell on my face crying before Jesus and repenting of what I had done. I repented of all the sin I had committed against Him; all the alcohol, drugs, witchcraft, and premarital sex. 

Eventually Jesus took me through deliverance, where I was supernaturally set free from addiction, and the pain in my body. Along with the deliverance the Lord taught me how to renew my mind. He gave me strategies on using Bible verses to restructure my thinking, and to reinforce my identity as a child of God. The Abiding Heart was birthed out of these strategies from Holy Spirit in renewing my mind. 

We can surely be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
